Ernest Shock, Chief Nursing Officer

Ernest ShockErnest J. Shock, Jr., BSN, R.N., MSL, is the chief nursing officer of Regency Hospital Greenville. In this role since 2021, he organizes and oversees the hospital’s clinical services, implementing care and quality standards to meet regulatory requirements.

Ernest has nearly 30 years of nursing experience, working in progressively responsible positions as an intensive care bedside nurse, department and divisional director and chief nursing officer at health systems across North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina. Earlier, he was a paramedic.

He earned a nursing degree from Appalachian State University and graduate degree in leadership and business from South University.
